My manager emails me about things, rather than using the internal Slack channel. What am I missing?

I’ve been asked this question – and typically the answer is that your manager is older (maybe over 50?) and email was the norm for internal communication, before the existence of Slack and other channels. I agree that it’s incredibly inefficeint to be sending internal emails, so telling them that you respond FASTEST to Slack is a good way to break that habit. It may take a while to do this – habits take a while to change (usually at least 3 weeks). But replying in Slack over and over again – and emailing a response that says “I responded to you in Slack” will help!

I like the idea of saying in the email “I responded via Slack”

I do this when I get a text from someone at work. Lol

Having one channel and one channel only is so beneficial in keeping up to date with what is needed to be completed, what the priorities are for the week, etc
